In collaboration with the Swedish Research Institute (RISE) and the Swedish Agricultural University, the Svep Amnovia IoT platform delivers AI applications for smart agriculture, helping reduce water usage, prevent frost damage, and predict optimal harvest conditions.
Freja AI
The system gathers data on sunlight, temperature, and irrigation, integrating it with weather forecasting services. Using AI and machine learning, Freja AI assesses crop health and evaluates conditions for optimal harvest. It provides an estimated harvest date when crops will reach full maturity and can also recommend early harvesting if weather events might impact yield. The early warning capabilities have allowed vineyards to save over half of their crops from frost damage.
A significant percentage of crops are lost each year due to pests. To address this, farmers frequently use pesticides. However, pesticides not only impact the environment but also add unnecessary costs for farmers if pests are not actively present.
Bug IT
Svep is part of BugIt, and with our Amnovia IoT platform, a hardware sensor station equipped with AI-powered image analysis is connected to the cloud to provide decision support. Farmers receive alerts when the count of a specific insect type exceeds a set threshold, ensuring the correct pesticides are applied only when necessary.
Amnovia also assists in tracking pesticide usage, recording when and where pesticides were applied across fields.
